What are the main steps of the contribution of the Internet industry in the fight against harmful content ?

Sept. 1997  :  creation of French Internet Service Providers Association ( AFA )
1998  :  creation of Point de Contact, an online assistance service against child sexual abuse material and racial hatred
1999  :  creation of INHOPE, the European federation of hotlines dedicated to fighting online child sexual abuse material, with AFA as a founding member, under the European Commission's action plan for a safer Internet
14 June 2004  :  signature in Bercy of the "despicable content" Charter under the sponsorship of M. Patrick Devedjian : AFA's Point de Contact becomes the relay of its members legal obligation to report potentially illegal content brought to their attention to competent authorities, as provided by the Law for Trust in the Digital Economy of 24 June 2004
Feb. 2005  :  launch in Bercy of the "net+sûr" label. AFA members which follow the rules of the "despicable content" Charter agree to include the label on their homages and/or on any other mean of communication
16 Nov 2005  :  Internet access providers within AFA agree to provide user-friendly quality parental control solutions without charging their customers extra costs, in order to make Internet navigation safer for children
7 Nov. 2006  :  launch of the Internet Driver's Licence, an educational game designed for children aged 7 to 11 and their parents
2009  :  INHOPE totalizes 36 partner hotlines in 31 countries
23 Sept. 2009  :  launch of the mobile version of Point de Contact
